The Family

Daniel Kragh-Jacobsen is one of the founding members of new–land. A graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles, he works across narrative film, music videos, and commercials, and has been widely recognized for bridging the worlds of cinematic storytelling and commercial filmmaking. Among his accolades is a Cannes Gold Lion for The Family, a short film for Ford acclaimed for its poignant portrayal of modern family life.

He is known for crafting intimate, character-driven stories that explore the complexities of human relationships — particularly the nuances of youth and childhood. His work is marked by a sensitivity to authentic, understated moments that unfold with a natural touch.

His commercial portfolio includes campaigns for Nike, Ikea, Ford, Momondo and Danish Railways, among others. His commercial and short film for shoe-brand Bianco ‘The Lift’ won three Cannes Lions in 2019 and marked his bridgebuilding between narrative and commercial.
